Cellini with shaped beads I

I am calling this week's post Cellini with shaped beads part 1. I am pretty sure that with the right combination of beads all shaped beads will work in Cellini  in one way or another and I will definitly be trying more shaped beads later this year! This week I stitched spiral pieces using Infinity beads and SuperUnos and also made a Bola Canasta with Rizo beads that turned into a bezel for a cab I have had for years.

The spiral with infinity beads I will use as a beaded bead slider.

This one with SuperUnos will go into a baggie as a UFO. My fingers need a break and I have more beading to do for next week. I will bag it with the SuperUnos since this is the only project I have ever used them for!

As for the Bolas based Rizo bezeled cab, I think I am going to stitch a loop for the back and call it a pendant. I really like the way it came out, I have not used this Opal triplet cab since I bought it- Bead honesty time- over 10 years ago! I am curious to try this kind of Rizo bezel again with a Rivoli!

Next week I am either going to show something awesome that I have floating in my head that turned out great and I didn't struggle with, or I am going to show off more bits and pieces that I played with. Let's hope for option 1 :)

1/24/19 Bangle time!

This week I made a small Cellini bangle using the colors I picked out last week! I need to remember that with these bangles and the donuts the main color is gonna be the 8's- the big ones- I really thought the galvanized purpley 15's were gonna be more dominant.

I actually made this bangle a couple of twists smaller than the bangles I made in my "Cellini time" blog post! Since the Cellini stitch "rolls" over the hand when putting on the bangle, I made this one as small as I could where it still fit it over the widest part of my hand with a little squishing! I love it!

For next week I am planning on playing with different shaped beads in Cellini. I don't have a particular project in mind, but I have a bunch of one and two holed shaped beads. I am not sure where I am going, but that is part of the fun of bead experimenting. I will do my best and keep the camera handy!

1/17/19 More Bolas!

This week I went a little Bola crazy! I made a bunch (7) of them in different colors. I like the fact that they have a nice big hole so they can be worn on any chain (atleast any chain that I own). They make me want to get one of those bracelets meant for wearing beads on- you know the ones :)

I really enjoyed making these. They are quick and once you have made a few they are easy too!

I will definitely be making more Bolas Canastas beads this year! For next week I will be making a bracelet like the ones from my "Cellini Time" blog post from last July! I have already picked out some colors and am hoping that by making a bracelet it will encourage the spring weather to arrive early! Hey- a lady can dream right! Here are the colors of my soon to be Cellini bracelet!

1/10/19 Bolas Canastas beaded beads

This week I made a pair of "Bolas Canastas" beaded beads designed by Cath Thomas.

In the FB group Cellini Peyote Freaks there are optional challenges to participate in. I missed out on the first challenge, but used this blog post to make Bolas and enter challenge #2. The challenge is to use a color wheel to pick a palette outside of your comfort zone. Not only are these beads in a color I rarely use, but they are also monotone.

I am usually a bright- in your face colors- probably a rainbow kinda beader! These are pretty and delicate. I am sure they will make pretty earrings eventually :)

Next week I am going to make more Bolas! I am going to make them in more of my style- with lots of colors!!!

1/3/19 Happy New Year!

It's a new year and I have a new yearly project for my blog! 2019 is going to be the year of the Cellini! I should start off with a mention of the Facebook Group "Cellini Peyote Freaks" since it is going to be, and has been a big inspiration for my desire to make Cellini projects. There are so many wonderful ideas that I shouldn't lack for projects, just the time to do them :) This week I started off with a little Cellini donut inspired by the colors of the Chicago Bears NFL team! GO BEARS!

I really liked the way both my holiday donuts and this one turned out so I will probably be making several of these during the year, especially when I'm short on beading time!

Next week I am planning on making "Bolas Canastas" beaded beads designed by Cath Thomas. The instructions for these cute beads are available in the files of the Cellini Peyote Freaks group! If you aren't a member, click on over and request to join the other 3,156 Cellini freaks!
