1/25/18 Bracelet from B&B August 2013

This week I made the "Double-sided diamond bangle" by Sue Harle from the cover and page 40 of Bead & Button August 2013 . I wanted to make this bracelet since I first saw this magazine and I am glad I did- better late than never!

I used my new Duracoat Delicas to make it and I really like these new colors. They are bright and the beads are sturdy- I only snapped one bead making this whole bracelet (and it is still in there). I used DB 2143, DB2140, and DB2136 for the purple side and DB2121, DB2133, and DB2127 for the green side. I ended up stitching 12 diamonds and then adding a clasp since my wrist is so much smaller than my hand. Bangles on me tend to flop around and abuse my thumb all day!

This was a fun project. It took a little longer than I thought it would but turned out nicely. I really enjoyed that both sides of this bracelet are made at the same time it adds some variety while stitching. I would definitely make another one of these. It would be fantastic in all metallic or silver lined!  This bracelet is going in my personal collection. I really love it and it fits me perfectly.

Next week I am going to "so something with" another UFO and write out my thoughts and workings about it. It is based on beaded bead #14 from my 2016 blog project! Check out next week to see what I do.
