Update Time!

Since there isn't a beaded bead today- I decided to blog about the beady things I have been up to besides (and including) making beads!  It has been a while since I have blogged about anything but my year long project. Here goes:

I had my first sale on Etsy! This is not my first online sale, just my first on Etsy. I left Artfire with 302 sales and 155 five star reviews to start over!!! Both scary and exciting! If you didn't know already: I can now be found on Etsy under the shop name BethClarkBeadArt.

If you haven't already visited my Etsy shop then you don't know that I have two new paid beaded bead tutorials- they are the Duocube beaded bead and Dodecarizo beaded bead tutorials.

I also have also been cleaning and organizing! Fall cleaning (if that is a thing).
I now have a bunch of Destash items listed in my Etsy shop. Bead strands and small Flat Rate Boxes stuffed full of beads! Possibly more if I get motivated to continue!

The other beady thing I have been up to is participating in Chloe Menage's #septemberjewellerychallenge on Instagram.  You can follow her @pinkhot_uk on Instagram and you can find her (PinkHotJewellery) on Facebook.

Every day in the month of September I posted a picture of the beaded jewelry from my personal collection that I was wearing. A different thing everyday. I didn't wear jewelry everyday, but it is amazing that there is only one day left and I haven't run out!

You can follow me on Instagram @bethclarkbeadart to see all the posts I made this month....

Stay tuned for next Thursday's beaded bead!
As always- Thanks for reading and Happy Beading!

-Beth

2016 Project: Beaded bead #19

This time the bead is the "Dewdrop" beaded bead designed by Cindy Holsclaw of Bead Origami. This bead is the last in Beadwork Magazine's 2012 beaded bead contest.
It is also the last bead of the summer (as I made it yesterday) and also my first bead of the fall. The colors I used are similar to the instructions and  it reminds me of Mardi Gras...

This bead is a clever use of drop beads and has a bit of a barrel shape to it.

You can find this pattern in Beadwork October/November 2012: The Digital-edition of this magazine is actually available!

You can also buy the pattern directly from Cindy on her webside BeadOrigami!
I did see that Cindy has a bonus bracelet pattern based on the beginning of this bead that is included with the beaded bead pattern...

Only 7 beads to go!

My remaining deadlines are:

Fall dates: (6 left) 10/6, 10/20, 11/3, 11/17, 12/1, 12/15

The last bead will be "due" on 12/29!

Thanks for reading and Happy Beading! -Beth

2016 Project: Beaded bead #18

Bead #18 is the "Treasure Trove beaded bead" by Cynthia Newcomer Daniel.
It was featured as bead #4 in Beadwork Magazine's 2012 beaded bead contest. The pattern is in the August/September 2012 issue. I didn't use the exact beads called for in the pattern because I didn't have them. I did use the right size to substitute :) I really like it!

It is really is a beautiful beaded bead with embellishments!

It was fun to stitch, and quite easy once I understood how to make it.

If you haven't heard of Cynthia Newcomer Daniel, check out the most recent (October/November 2016) Beadwork Magazine! There is a great article about her on page 38. There is also a preview pattern from her most recent book Modern Beaded Lace which you can buy hereon Amazon, and many other places if you Google. You can also check her out on Etsy, in her shop "JewelryTales". It has over 100 beading tutorials!!

Where to find the pattern for this bead:

Of course you can find it in Beadwork August/September 2012. (again it is sold out at Interweave as of my blog post)

Instead of Googling for hours trying to find a link to this pattern, I sent Cynthia a message on Facebook and asked her if there was another place to get the pattern: She replied back immediately and....Voila!
Cynthia sells this pattern under the name "Rosebud beaded bead" in her Etsy shop! It is a different colorway than the magazine, but it is the same beaded bead!

8 beads to go!

My remaining deadlines are:

Fall dates: (7 beads) 9/22, 10/6, 10/20, 11/3, 11/17, 12/1, 12/15

The last bead will be "due" on 12/29!

Thanks for reading and Happy Beading! -Beth
